My speech therapist suggested that we try it while she's watching TV so she'll be distracted. So, here's her whining:

Harlie whining
So, we've been trying the PMV (speaking valve) a lot. But, she's definitely not liking the feeling I guess. She's never breathed through her mouth and nose, so I guess the sensation is very weird and I'm sure it takes more effort on her part, so she's not a happy camper when I make her wear it. I'm hoping that once we get her over a "hump" she'll be fine with it.

That's amazing! I have never really heard her voice before! I am sitting here with tears in my eyes at getting to hear it! Towards the end of the video it almost seems like she is playing with it a bit, as opposed to whining. As if she is saying, "Is that me?? I can make that noise??" I am sure it will get better! Take care!

Christy, as I said to you on the phone..this is truly amazing..even though Harlie is "whining"...the sound is so beautiful to hear!! Wait till she realizes what she can do with that wonderful voice. God Bless her and all of you.
