Brothers

A few weeks ago I got a message from a former teacher of Murphy's.  She worked at the preschool he went to from the time he was three months old till he was almost three years old.  She cut his hair for us during that time and did a great job.  She read my blog post about how unmanageable Murphy and Cooper's hair are and had a great idea.  She offered to come to my house to cut their hair - on a schedule!  How great is that?  I took her up on it immediately!  Especially since they were long overdue for cuts and I hadn't given a second's thought to when I was going to take them.

She came out last Monday and will come over again every 3rd Monday of the month.  It was great timing, too, because Cooper had preschool pics taken on Thursday.  What luck!  Here's Kim cutting Murphy's hair in our garage:

I couldn't get pictures of Cooper getting his hair cut.  He still gets pretty upset and if I had let him go he would have jumped off the stool and ran.  So, no pics of him.  Kim H. no longer works as a preschool teacher.  She cuts hair full-time now at Thairapy Salon.  Thank you so much, Kim!  Looking forward to the next time!

Here are the boys after the cuts.  They are two peas in a pod, that's for sure.

And here is a photo from a couple of weeks ago (before the cuts, obviously).  We were getting ready to go outside and Murphy went and got Cooper's shoes and put them on him.  What a great big brother he is becoming.

Saturday was a beautiful day here, so the kids pretty much spent all day outside.  To give you a little background, on Thursday when I picked Cooper up from preschool, his teacher said that he stuck his fingers in the overflow hole in the sink and got them stuck.  And he cut his finger on something else that morning.

Then, on Saturday, in the backyard, Cooper got his hand/finger stuck in a metal toy.  Tom had to get it out and he said he pinched it really good (in a bad way, of course).  Cooper cried for a long time and wanted me and Tom to kiss his hand about a million times over the next several hours.

That night at dinner, we were sitting at the table and Tom and I were on one side and the boys were across from us.  Cooper fell off the seat and bumped his head and looked at us to kiss it.  So, Tom said, "Murphy, kiss your brother's head for us, okay"?  So, he did.  And you should have seen the look Cooper gave him.  He looked at him like - Whoa!  You can kiss boo boos, too???!!  And then he shoved his hurt hand in Murphy's face.

It was a wonderful moment.  So, so funny and so, so cute!  Murphy immediately started laughing and just couldn't stop.  It was hysterical.  It will definitely be one of my most favorite memories as a Mom.  It brings a smile to my face every time I think of it.  The look on Cooper's face - priceless!!!  If only I had it on camera.

Tonight they were laying on the kitchen floor playing with my iPod Touch.  Murphy can be so patient with him at times.

They still have their moments, of course (bad ones, I mean).  Cooper wants to play with Murphy all the time.  And he really likes to go in Murphy's room and play with his toys.  Namely, his legos that he spends a lot of time building.  Cooper can destroy something in seconds, by the way.  Which lead to Murphy making and hanging up this sign on his door:

No Cooper Zone
But we are really enjoying the brotherly love we are seeing more and more.

As I was looking for some brother photos, I came across this one...

Cooper loves his sister, too.

And speaking of Harlie, here are a couple of pictures from tonight.  She was so funny tonight.  Nothing specific - she was just being funny.

This is her silly/bashful look...

Well, that's it for tonight.  More later!

Thanks!
~Christy

Those pictures of all three kids are adorable. One is just as sweet as the other but how fast they are all growing up.

Kim sounds like a great person, what a nice offer! My son's hair looks awful most of the time because I cut it myself. If only I had an in-home stylist.

Love the story about the boo boo's. The age divide is getting narrower. They sure are cute together. And I love Harlie's silly bashful look. Very cute.

I found this blog today and I've been reading about Harlie with a smile on my face.
I'm 22 -years old and have GHS myself so I'm very interested about it, especially when I've seen how different it can be to different people!

While I have never had my GHS as bad as hers, I can relate to her and want to tell you that you have one reader more from now on. :)
